Leia as frases:

Someone farted in here! Who was it?

(alguém peidou aqui! Quem foi?)

A fart is a combination of gases that travel from the stomach to the anus.

>> artsy-fartsy (US) / arty-farty (UK)
To faff about / round (UK).

[SONG] Is this love by Bob Marley

Is This Love?
                                                                            Bob Marley

I wanna love you and treat you right
I wanna love you every day and every night
We'll be together  with a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter of my single bed
We'll share the same room, yeah, oh jah  rovide the bread
Is this love, is this love, is this love
Is this love that I'm feeling?
Is this love, is this love, is this love
Is this love  that I'm feeling?

I wanna know, wanna know, wanna know now
I got to know, got to know, got to know now
I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'm willing and able
so I throw my cards on your table

I wanna love you, I wanna love and treat, love and treat you right
I wanna love you every day and every night
We'll be together yeah, with a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter yeah, oh yeah, of my single bed
We'll share the same room yeah, oh jah provide the bread

Oh yes I know, yes I know, yes I know now

I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'm willing and able
so I throw my cards on your table

See I wanna love ya, I wanna love and treat ya, love and treat you right
I wanna love you every day and every night
We'll be together with a roof right over our heads
We'll share the shelter of my single bed
We'll share the same room yeah, oh jah provide the bread

Divulgando o blog do MOCHILEIRO-DAS-GALAXIAS

She is building castles in the air.

Vasco da Gama coach Ricardo Gomes suffers stroke during match v Flamengo

The images from Brazil of Vasco da Gama coach Ricardo Gomes suffering a stroke on the touchline on Sunday night, immediately brings to mind the death of legendary Scottish manager Jock Stein, who suffered a heart attack and died in 1985 during a World Cup play-off match between Wales and Scotland.
The latest news from Brazil is that Gomes is in a stable condition after suffering a heart attack during the 0-0 draw between Vasco and Flamengo on Sunday.
Vasco’s team doctor Clovis Munhoz told reporters after the 46-year-old Ricardo had surgery: “The initial treatment is a surgical treatment to relieve the hemorrhaging, so there’s a minimum possible suffering of the cerebral tissue.”
Most striking from the footage is how Gomes attempted to keep his stroke low key by calling the medical team over and seemingly whispering that he wasn’t feeling well.
Although difficult to make out on the video, it also appears that the former Brazil defender and captain made his own way into the ambulance during the second half of the Vasco-Flamengo encounter.

Hurricane Irene is a reminder that adapting to climate change is smart policy, regardless of the climate change part

Watch this video:

New York Shuts Down For Hurricane Irene

Talk about eery timing. The current special issue of Scientific American is about cities, and as I type this, Hurricane Irene is making her way up the Atlantic seaboard and is expected to reach New York City by Sunday morning.
I, like nearly everyone else, am refreshing news pages, blog posts, and scanning my Twitter feed for stories and updates about Irene. I am particularly drawn to stories about how New York City is preparing for the storm. According to the New York Times, approximately 370,000 people in New York City are being asked to find higher ground. Another 2 million people in surrounding areas are being asked to do the same.
Besides the people using the hurricane as an excuse to drink wine, Irene is a pretty big dang deal for the Big Apple. How big? The New York subway system has been shut down. Things must be serious!

It’s times like these that we are reminded of the breadth and power of Nature, and that severe weather events like these are likely to be more frequent as the climate continues to change. But we are not completely powerless. We can plan ahead for these events to minimize loss of life and damage to our cities.

According the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, over 53 percent of Americans live within 50 miles of a coastline. So, ensuring that our cities and metro areas are prepared for rising sea levels, storm surges, intense rainfall events, and more is smart public policy.

How do you say "AVC" in English?

A stroke, previously known medically as a cerebrovascular accident (CVA), is the rapidly developing loss of brain function(s) due to disturbance in the blood supply to the brain. This can be due to ischemia (lack of blood flow) caused by blockage (thrombosis, arterial embolism), or a hemorrhage (leakage of blood). As a result, the affected area of the brain is unable to function, which might result in an inability to move one or more limbs on one side of the body, inability to understand or formulate speech, or an inability to see one side of the visual field.
A stroke is a medical emergency and can cause permanent neurological damage, complications, and death. It is the leading cause of adult disability in the United States and Europe and the second leading cause of death worldwide. Risk factors for stroke include old age, hypertension (high blood pressure), previous stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA), diabetes, high cholesterol, cigarette smoking and atrial fibrillation. High blood pressure is the most important modifiable risk factor of stroke.

Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

Song: Spending my time [Roxette]

Teacher: Bruno Coriolano. Level: elementary.
Song: Spending my time
Artist: Roxette

1.

What’s the time? Seems it’s already morning.
I see the ____1___; it’s so beautiful and blue.
The ___2___ is on but the only thing showing
Is a picture of you.
Oh, I get up and make myself some coffee.
I try to read a bit but the story is too thin.
I thank the lord above that you’re not here to see me
In this shape I’m in.
Spending my time, watching the days go by.
Feeling so small, I stare at the wall, hoping that you
Think of me too. I’m spending my time.
I try to call but I don’t know what to tell you.
I leave a _____3____ on your answering machine.
Oh, help me please, is there someone who can make me
Wake up from this ______4______?
Spending my time, watching the days go by.
Feeling so small, I stare at the wall, hoping that you
Are missing me too.  Spending my time, watching the sun go down.
I fall asleep to the sound of “tears of clown,” a prayer gone blind.
I’m spending my time. My ______5_____ keep telling me hey, life will go on,
Time will make sure I’ll get over you. This silly game of love
You play, you win only to lose.
Spending my time, watching the __6______ go by.
Feeling so small, I stare at the wall, hoping that you
Are missing me too.  Spending my time, watching the sun go down.
I fall asleep to the sound of “tears of __7____,” a prayer gone blind.
I’m spending my time.  I’m spending my time.
I can’t bear without your love.
I’m spending my time, my time, my time.
Spent without you ____8____, honey
I’m spending my time.
