Poucas palavras:

Things to do when your Facebook is turned off.

The first thing I would mention here is “writing” a short story. Either in your first language or not, it is worth trying. Apart from your time, you’ll have nothing else to lose.

I know there are a great deal of pretty much more interesting things to do instead, but writing something occasionally may help you develop some of your hidden skills.

Okay, then. You have just decided to go for it – try to write a word or two and see what happens next. Well, you sit down in front of the laptop; set your fingers on the keyboards and…Mm… nothing… not even a word comes out. And why is that? INSPIRATION! Too much? No. not even an idea? Nope!

Well, look around you. Inspiration is out there - somewhere. Look at that boy holding his mother’s hand. Look at that angry father complaining about something (what is he complaining about?). Can you hear that noise coming from that red automobile? No? Try again. It’s a big red van, isn’t it?

Look at that boy playing the piano. Imagine that he is practicing in his room. NO, NO, NO… imagine that there is a boy, yes a boy, maybe the same one, but now, he is playing somewhere else. Create something – is he playing on the streets? Open your mind. Write, write, and write again. At some point, something worth saving will appear.

Whatever you do, just don’t keep staring at that blinking cursor on your screen – keep looking. I’ll show what I have done so far. Inspiration is a wonderful thing, I was told once. Use it.

Ever since I was away from Facebook; I have been reading more than I used to; I took some time to learn a little bit more about many things. #FacebookOff4Ever

See you in another post, brothers.

Cheers,

Bruno Coriolano.
