Becoming a Writer (Part one).

I have just started a new story. Let me know what you guys think about it, okay?
The story goes like this:

Once upon a time, there was a dog.
The dog was so weak that it suddenly died.
That’s the end of the story.
The end.

Could you guys provide me with feedback, please?

·         What did you like about my writing?
·         Who was your favorite character and why?
·         Was there a particular phrase or paragraph that stood out to you?
·         Did my writing remind you of another author? Who?
·         How could I improve my writing?

You may be thinking that this is the most stupid thing you have ever read, right?

Too short, too boring, some might think.

Well, this short post about a short story may be a provocative one. One of the most difficult things in “writing correction” – some people would simply called it feedback – is how to say that a piece of writing it not good.
Therefore, I would like to ask you guys: How do you correct your students when their composition, essays and the like are not that good?
