Heather Dorniden is a
sprinter and was leading the 600 meter race at the finals of the College
Championships. She was competing against the best athletes in the country, and
she was the favorite to win. But with one lap to go, she suddenly tripped and
fell on her face.
The commentators, as well
as the crowd, gasped as they were shocked such a misfortune could happen in a
pivotal moment of the competition. But what she did next stunned the entire
crowd.
Heather serves as a great
example to us all. Even the most talented person will not succeed without
determination and an unwillingness to quit when adversity strikes. It’s not about
how hard we fall, it’s about how we can get up and keep fighting.
